We are a small animal practice on the Isle of Wight established in 1980, becoming part of the Pet Doctors group in 2006. Your pets are our priority and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. We provide our own 24-hour emergency care at our RCVS accredited Small Animal Veterinary Hospital in Newport.
Kim qualified from the Copenhagen University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. After moving to the UK in 1992 he worked a number of years at the PDSA where he started taking an interest in eye cases. He gained the RCVS certificate in veterinary ophthalmology in 1998 and has been running an ophthalmology referral service since then. He has a special interest in vision and its implications for pet animal welfare and is particularly interested in corneal surgery as well as reconstructive eyelid surgery. He currently has a visually impaired cat as well as a young boisterous Lurcher.
Melanie Norris BVSc CertVC MRCVS
Melanie graduated from Bristol in 1987 and has a special interest in heart problems, holding a certificate in veterinary cardiology. She is a RCVS advanced practitioner in veterinary cardiology. She enjoys ultrasound scanning and finds it very rewarding to help animals to get the maximum enjoyment out of life by managing their heart problems. Melanie enjoys playing piano, reading with her black and white lap-cat Minty, and running – trying to keep up (unsuccessfully) with her very fast Greyhound cross Saluki, Luna.
We are continuing to work safely to provide care for your pets during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help keep us all safe, please do not attend the practice unless you have a pre-booked appointment, or have arranged to collect food/medication. Thank you.
