Simon qualified from the vet school at Cambridge University in 1987. He worked in a mixed practice on the edge of Dartmoor then returned to academic life at the Royal Veterinary College, London, for five years where he earned his PhD. When he returned to private practice he became a partner in a multi-vet small animal and equine practice in rural Essex where he worked for over 20 years. But Simon is from the Isle of Wight and always hoped to return at some point. He was therefore very pleased when the opportunity arose to join Pet Doctors in 2015. His wife is also a vet; outside of work they love getting out into the countryside of the island walking their assorted dogs.


Kerry McNie BVMS CertAVP(SAM) MRCVS

Kerry started working here as a new graduate vet in 2007 and is usually based at our Newport Hospital or our Cowes surgery. She has an Advanced Practitioners Certificate in internal medicine and a special interest in cardiology. Kerry has three dogs called Brae, Tilly and Rosie, and in her spare time she enjoys walking over the downs in West Wight with her three dogs. She has also been known to complete Walk the Wight for charity. Kerry is a keen Southern region Petsavers representative. PetSavers is the charitable division of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and has been dedicated to improving the health of the nation’s pets since 1974.


Dimitrios Angelidakis MRCVS
Newport practice
Dimitrios graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece in July 2017. He did his national service in the Greek Aviation the following year and when that was completed joined the Pet Doctors team as a new graduate. At work he has a keen interest in internal medicine and would like to strengthen his diagnostics skills. Outside of work he enjoys practicing his Lute (traditional musical instrument from Crete, Greece) and the drums.



Sara Azabal Brillo DVM CertAVP SAS MRCVS

Originally from Spain, Sara graduated in 2005 and has been working in the UK since February 2015. Sara obtained a postgraduate certificate in small animal surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedics) in 2020 from Harper Adams University and Liverpool University. In 2021 Sara was recognized advanced practitioner by the RCVS. Her main interest is soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, also she has experience with Laparoscopy.
Outside of work Sara likes travelling, walking and doing kayaking with her dog.

Nicola (Nick) Cosmi MRCVS
Lake, Ryde and Newport practices
Nick joined Pet Doctors in 2015 and has a special interest in surgery. In his spare time he likes to cook lovely Italian dishes for his colleagues. He also takes a keen interest in cars and motorbikes, and going on holiday with his beautiful wife who also works at Pet Doctors.



Alessandra Fasciani MRCVS
Ryde and Newport practices
Alessandra joined Pet Doctors in 2016. She has a keen interest in internal medicine and outside of work enjoys travelling and oriental culture, she would love to visit Japan and Korea in the future. She also loves shopping and has an interest in toy breeds such as Chihuahua's.


Virginia Martinez MRCVS
Cowes and Newport practices
Virginia joined Pet Doctors in October 2017. She qualified in 2013 from Extremadura University in Spain. Virginia has previously worked with Sara (our surgical vet) who introduced her to us. She has a keen interest in surgery and diagnostic imaging.


Lucie Pacey Ohanian BVetMed MRCVS
Newport practice
Lucie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2018 and started her first job at Pet Doctors in Newport as a new graduate. At work she has a keen interest in internal medicine and hopes to develop her knowledge of exotics further whilst here. Outside of work Lucie enjoys sketching, music festivals and relaxing with her family dog.
